Books can take you to the ends of the earth; books can create a whole new world for readers to explore.<\/p>\n<p>For children, reading books is particularly important, both for entertainment and for learning and improving language skills. Now that winter is in full swing, and it's cold and dark outside, reading books is a perfect after-school or holiday activity. That's why at Hey Kiddo we've come up with book suggestions for children of all ages. For younger children, it might be easier to read books together with <a href=\"https:\/\/heykiddo.se\/en\/\">babysitting<\/a> or family, for example through reading aloud, and older children may prefer to read on their own. However you choose to read - you can also listen to audiobooks, for example - it's an equally magical experience every time. Reading books is also a good <a href=\"https:\/\/heykiddo.se\/en\/creativity\/riding-lessons-for-children\/\">indoor activity<\/a> for children during the Christmas holidays, and speaking of Christmas, children's books are a great gift idea!<\/p>\n<p>Giving a really good book as a gift can be an effective way to encourage children to start reading more. There are plenty of engaging, adventurous and fun children's books to choose from. It can be difficult to find a book that your child will really enjoy, and there are many different genres and children's books that appeal to children of different ages. This list of 16 book tips for children of all ages only mentions a few of the many children's books available, but it can be helpful when looking for something interesting to read.<\/p>\n<h2>Book tips for children of all ages<\/h2>\n<h3><strong>For children 0-3 years<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>For the youngest children, interactive books are suitable where they can get involved while reading. These can be play books, for example, or books that involve pointing things out. Books for young children are usually made of durable and bite-resistant cardboard to last for a long time, and usually contain colourful and bright pictures that encourage curiosity in the child.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The \"Roj\" children's books by Ellen Karlsson<\/li>\n<li>The books about \"Totte and Emma\" by Gunilla Volde<\/li>\n<li>\"Check the bag!\" by Elisabet Ericson and Ebba Forslind<\/li>\n<li>\"The train journey\" by Hannah Arnesen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>For children 3-6 years <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Preschoolers usually enjoy reading aloud together, as they have not yet started learning to read. If the child is of primary school age, books with a little more text and perhaps even book series are suitable.
