In the run-up to Christmas, it's great to put on some Christmas music in the kitchen and explore simple, as well as creative, recipes for Christmas treats. Perfect tip for babysitting with your nanny - make some hot chocolate and you're ready for Christmas cosiness!

White chocolate bar with candy canes

Chocolate biscuits are childishly delicious and easy to make in the kitchen. This recipe takes just 10 minutes to make.

Tip! For even more Christmas spirit, mix red or green caramel colouring into the chocolate.

Ingredients:

  • 100 g white chocolate
  • A few drops of caramel colour (optional)
  • A handful of candy canes

Do this:

  1. Melt white chocolate in a water bath
  2. Mix in caramel colour
  3. Spread the melted chocolate on a baking sheet on a cutting board
  4. Chop candy canes into small pieces
  5. Sprinkle the candy canes evenly over the chocolate
  6. Place in the fridge and leave to cool for 1 hour
  7. Break the chocolate bar into smaller pieces and serve - yum!

Cornflakes with chocolate coating

If you like rocky road, you'll love this simple Christmas treat! The chocolate and crispy flakes create a fantastic flavour experience - suitable for young and old. The perfect Christmas treat to whip up in 15 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 50 g butter
  • 100 g milk chocolate
  • 3 tbsp light syrup
  • 100 g cornflakes
  • 6 teaspoons of sprinkles
  • Muffin tins

Do this:

  1. Melt the chocolate in a water bath
  2. Stir in the syrup and butter until smooth
  3. Mix in the cornflakes
  4. Take a ladle and distribute the batter evenly in the moulds
  5. Sprinkle some on top - preferably snowflakes or silver baubles
  6. Leave to cool in the fridge for about 30 minutes

Saffron school with sea salt

Who can resist a deliciously sweet and buttery toffee? This recipe also includes saffron - the perfect Christmas treat for December. The recipe requires a little more time in the kitchen, but it's so good you have to try it!

Ingredients:
  • 50 g butter
  • 3 dl granulated sugar 
  • 3 dl whipped cream
  • 1 1/2 dl light syrup 
  • 1 tsp white wine vinegar
  • 2 packets of saffron (1/2 g each)
  • 1 - 2 tsp sea salt

Do this:

  1. Start by mixing all ingredients except saffron and sea salt in a large saucepan
  2. Bring to the boil and cook over medium heat for 30 minutes. If you have a thermometer, you can let it boil to 125 degrees
  3. Stir regularly
  4. Stir in the saffron and pour the batter into a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  5. Sprinkle with sea salt
  6. Leave to cool
  7. Finish by cutting the cabbage into bite-sized pieces
