We don't offer our own au pairs - but we are happy to help!
At Hey Kiddo, we don't have any employed au pairs for you to choose from. However, we can help you make the hiring process simple, safe and white - if you have already found a person yourself who wants to work as an au pair or nanny. We then step in as the employer and take care of all the practicalities:
- Salaries, insurance and social security contributions
- CPR and safety training
- Safe background check
This means that your nanny or au pair will have the right conditions and you will not have to deal with the administration. In addition, the service will be eligible for RUT.
Most common arrangement: Live-out au pair
Our most popular arrangement in Sweden is the so-called ”live-out” au pair - that is, the au pair lives in their own accommodation but meets the family regularly as needed.
Many of our full-time nannies are bilingual and native English speakers. In some cases, we can also help you find someone who speaks French or Spanish, for example - but this requires advance planning and specific demand.
It is not uncommon for families to want their au pair to accompany them on holidays or other activities. This is perfectly possible - please indicate this in your expression of interest.
Price & conditions for au pairs
The pricing for an au pair is different from regular childcare, as you are responsible for both board and lodging.
The first thing you need to consider is:
- How many hours per week you want the au pair to work
- How much free time they get
- What compensation you want to offer
Together with us, we will then set a reasonable hourly rate. You can propose a lower salary than normal if you provide accommodation and food, but we recommend keeping a competitive level for the au pair you wish to hire.
Already found an au pair or nanny?
Have you already found a person you want to hire? Then our approach is perfect for you! We'll contact the candidate, agree terms and conditions, do a background check and offer our safety training. We hire the person through Hey Kiddo - so you get a safe, legal and insured solution. And when we don't have to spend resources on recruitment, you get a more favourable price. If you come to us with a ready-made candidate, you get a 5 % discount on the entire service.
